Safer communities 2014

Thursday 13 February 2014, Cardiff.

Housing, landlord and supporting people services are increasingly expected to take an active role in tackling both anti-social behaviour (ASB) and domestic abuse in Welsh communities. Welsh Government is committed to building safer communities through reducing ASB, focussing on homelessness prevention and ensuring that everyone in Wales has the right to live in a safe community, free from violence and abuse.

The new Domestic Abuse (Wales) Bill, the Housing (Wales) Bill and Westminster’s ASB, Crime and Policing Bill, are all progressing through legislative programmes and will increase statutory requirements and further expectations of collaborative working. This event will examine current UK and Welsh Governments’ policies and programmes and, through a varied range of sessions, help organisations and individuals to understand current and emerging policy, research and good practice solutions.
